Airlines and businesses team up to bring more visitors to Guam
(Taipei, Taiwan) The Guam Visitors Bureau (GVB) recently went to Taiwan for an important sales mission in Taipei and Kaohsiung. Accompanied by Speaker Judi Won Pat of the 33rd Guam Legislature, their goal was to cultivate the growing relationship between Guam and Taiwan and share the island’s upcoming signature events and activities that could further expand this market segment.
The Guam team also met China Airlines over changes to its flight schedule. China Airlines announced it has adjusted its Taipei-Guam daytime departures on Wednesday and Sunday flights out of Taipei effective March 27th. This modification now makes it more convenient for passengers transiting from southern Taiwan to travel to Guam. In addition, China Airlines also offers a connecting flight to Guam from Kaohsiung to Taiwan's Taoyuan International Airport.
“We are excited that flight changes on China Airlines will help attract more visitors from southern Taiwan to Guam,” said GVB Marketing Manager Pilar Laguaña. “Working with our airline partners is an important component of strengthening our connection between our different visitor markets.”
GVB also met with EVA Air over a promotion to reward families that book their flight with the airline and fly to Guam on a Saturday throughout the month of April.
Additionally, the Guam team had a meeting with the largest retail bookstore chain in Taiwan, Eslite Bookstore, and the most popular cinema amongst high-yield customers, Vieshow Cinemas, for a marketing incentive program to feature Guam at their retails shops, as well as on Facebook and Liberty Times magazine.
“Guam is definitely the destination of choice for a family trip in paradise. With our natural beauty and various activities to enjoy, families can explore and experience our Håfa Adai spirit and unique Chamorro culture. We invite everyone to come to our beautiful island and thank our tourism industry partners for helping us grow and diversify our visitor profile,” added Laguaña.
