May 22, 2019

(Tumon, Guam) The Guam Visitors Bureau (GVB) has announced the promotion of Nadine Leon Guerrero to Director of Global Marketing and Nico Fujikawa to Director of Tourism Research in the marketing and research departments, respectively.

Leon Guerrero joined GVB in January 1994 and has taken on many progressive roles and managerial positions in her marketing career. She also played key roles in several promotional campaigns and initiatives for Guam’s source markets of Japan, China, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, North America, and the Philippines. She was the marketing manager of the greater China market prior to her promotion.

Fujikawa also brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his new role. He started at the Bureau in September 2016 as its Senior Tourism Research Analyst. He has advanced with many key projects under his helm, including the recently revised customs declaration forms and a new data analytics system that improves the accuracy of arrival statistics.

“We’re excited to promote Nadine and Nico to their respective positions,” said GVB President and CEO Pilar Laguaña. “I believe they will lead the marketing and research departments into a new era for the Bureau. I am confident in their leadership abilities and their commitment to improving our island home. Please join me in congratulating them.”

Fujikawa is a graduate of Notre Dame High School and completed his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and Economics from the University of Guam. He and his college sweetheart Maryanne Riaño are proudly raising their three-year-old son Knox, who is his main inspiration in making Guam a better place to live work and visit.

Leon Guerrero is an Academy of our Lady of Guam graduate and double majored with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in marketing and management from the University of Guam. She enjoys traveling, eating out, Netflix, and spending time with her family and her dog, Dukduk. She is from the village of Tamuning.
