GVB announces Travel Talks summit for tourism industry, digital Creative

June 10, 2019

First-of-its-kind event for Guam, with celebrity speakers and blue-chip company reps

(Tumon, Guam) — The Guam Visitors Bureau (GVB) announced that it will hold the #instaGuam Travel Talks: Global Digital Summit — the region’s first premiertravel technology conference — on August 14th 2019, at the Dusit Thani Guam Resort.

The #instaGuam Travel Talks: Global Digital Summit will bring together tourism industries, disruptive technology companies, and global social media influencers in a one-day conference to converse about the digital trends impacting the visitor experience economy.

Travel Talks topics include: “How to create storytelling content to promote your products, services and brands;” “Developing social media marketing strategies to attract visitors from Japan, Korea, Greater China, South East Asia, and North America;” and, “How to better reach and sell products and services to international tourists via global digital platforms.”

“This will be a day filled with global insights and revenue driven marketing strategies to take home for your businesses,” said GVB’s Board Chairman Sonny Ada.

GVB has invited popular social media influencers, including keynote speaker Sam Kolder, and innovative technology experts from Guam’s Asia Pacific source markets to lead portions of the Summit targeting key participants and relevant skills, such as new entrepreneurial approaches for local business owners to capitalize on emerging tourism developments to trends and strategies for travel vloggers, photographers, and video producers. While here, many will partake in a four-day familiarization trip to create content about Guam and our unique gems. This, says GVB, is a way to help train Guam’s own digital content creators to showcase their island online in a modern, intriguing way to the rest of the world.

“Guam’s Tourism Industry could not be where it is today without the help of the local community,” said GVB President and CEO Pilar Laguaña at the press conference. “The Summit will be jam-packed with educational topics for our local entrepreneurs who aspire to tell their Guam stories through online platforms and our local businesses who want to learn how to leverage the right digital media to reach and activate international customers.”

Industry speakers include: SKIFT, Booking.com, C-trip, Line JP, ZeroZero, and Christina’s.

Registration is now open at guamtraveltalks.com. Register before June 30 for $135 or in July for $175.
