March 12, 2018
(Shanghai, China) Ctrip, China’s leading Online Travel Agency (OTA), selected Guam as the recipient of “The Best Overseas Self-driving Tour Destination” award for its stunning coastal routes and driving experience.
The award was voted by over 25 million Ctrip users online and judged by a professional judging panel during Ctrip’s annual travel forum on March 6, 2018, at the Shanghai Ploy Grand Theater. This year’s event focused on self-driving tours, which seeks to capture and inspire the trend of self-driving travel.
“The Guam Visitors Bureau is honored and excited to accept this award for the entire island community,” said Nathan Denight, GVB President and CEO. “Guam is a perfect self-driving destination and we are extremely proud to promote our pristine coastline, picturesque landscapes and unique cultural and historical sites to our visitors. Self-driving is probably the best way to discover all of these hidden gems. With the rising trend of self-drive travel in China, we are hopeful to welcome even more Chinese visitors.”
Ctrip was founded in 1999 in Shanghai, China. The company is a leading provider of travel services including accommodation reservations, transportation ticketing, packaged tours and corporate travel management.
