GVB & world’s largest travel site to hold tourism industry seminar on Guam
(Tumon, Guam) The Guam Visitors Bureau (GVB) and TripAdvisor have teamed up to host an industry seminar on January 23, 2017 at the LeoPalace Resort Zefiro Banquet Room from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Presenting at the seminar is TripAdvisor’s Sarah Mathews, head of Destination Marketing Asia Pacific. Mathews was born and raised in Hong Kong and is fluent in Chinese. She has a deep understanding of the region, having spent most of her life in Hong Kong, Beijing and Australia. Her role with TripAdvisor is to share best practices for tourism boards and industry partners. Mathews most recently came to Guam as a presenter during the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Annual Summit in May 2016.
“We’re excited to bring Sarah Mathews back to Guam to share her valuable insights and advice about topics important to our tourism industry,” said GVB President and CEO Nathan Denight. “She was a hit at the PATA Annual Summit and we are delighted to partner with TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel site, to host this powerful seminar for our tourism partners, students and the public. We invite everyone to register and be a part of this event.”
Topics to be discussed include “Digital Revolution,” “Destination Trend on Guam,” “Rise of Mobile,” “Online Reputation” and “How to Manage Your Business.” Registration for the GVB and TripAdvisor Industry Seminar with Sarah Mathews is $20 and free for students. Limited seats are available for the industry seminar. To register, contact GVB Marketing Administrative Assistant Gabbie Franquez at [email protected] or call (671) 646-5278.
